Before you begin, remember
- Count on in stages rather than subtracting. From 10:47 to 13:15, go up to 11:00, then to 13:00, then to 13:15, and add the pieces.
- Never subtract times with column subtraction - 13:15 minus 10:47 does not work that way, because there are 60 minutes in an hour, not 100.
